The hotel had beatiful surrounding, the facilities were good and complete. The staff were abosolutely friendly & helpful. We had wine tasting there in the evening and it was a good way to wind down after a busy day of going around places. Nice size pool !! Clean room & large bathroom. Good supply of ammenities. Good selection of breakfast. Good base to go around Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra & Florence. Highly recommended !
Pillow was a little soft. A little bird chirping at 3am !
position not far from siena and all the beautiful medioeval villages, view, kindness of people, wine
Loved the area and the small towns, the scenery and the history
Didn't like that we couldn't use the pool in the morning before breakfast or after dinner, when we were actually on site. Most people tour during the day and we were unable to use the pool at our convenience. We didn't like that restriction at all. The room we had in the basement was very damp and extremely hot. It was a beautiful room but too hot.
Not much to write home about... Except for the staff; they were really sweet people.
We booked the small double room, and were given a sub-basement level room. Not fun. No warm lunches. € 2 for pool towel, internet for a charge, expensive dinner option. Not impressed.
Nice view a nd pool
No WiFi ,fan and air-conditioning didn't work properly
clean and large room. good dinner. kind employees,
our room was situated near a road and also near the breakfast room which we experienced as noisy/not relaxed.
This hotel was perfect for a relaxing stay in Chianti. Well-placed for touring the area and only a short drive to Sienna. Lovely people, great ambience, and good food and wine! Close to perfect.
Beautiful setting and grounds. Many sitting places outside to relax or picnic. Convenient to have dinner and breakfast onsite if you choose.
No ironing board in the room. Breakfast should be included in the price of the room.
The hotel grounds are lovely and beautifully maintained. Rooms are also very nice. Bed was comfortable.
The breakfast coffee is pretty bad. Bad enough that we ate breakfast elsewhere after the first day.
The location is just wonderful and the views of the countryside was just as we had imagined. The hotel is beautifully presented and the gardens are very tranquil. The restaurant served a delicious 3 course meal so you didn't have to travel away for meals and could soak up the entire experience.
Wonderful views across the Tuscan hills... only 5 miles from Siena, which has to be one of the most beautiful cities anywhere!! Also close to San Gimigniano and Florence...what more could you ask for???
Staff was always friendly and helpful in this charming small hotel which was the epitomy of Tuscany style stone buildings with tile roofs and wood beamed ceilings. The quiet setting in vineyards and olive groves was an easy drive to many of the more interesting hill towns such as San G., Siena and Voltare and not far from the main highway. It was convenient to have a restaurant on the property for either a price fixed or lighter menu. A comfortable lounge with bar and internet access had that warm rustic character of Tuscany that we found relaxing and pleasant to return to after each day of sightseeing. While in late October it was too cool for the pool, the setting has a spendid view of the surrounding Chianti country-side.
Not a complaint, just a suggestion to have a good map and directions to find the Belvedere for the first time as there's not a useable address for a GPS. Off track on our way there, we stopped at a wonderful vineyard with wine tasting called Rocca Della Macie for directions. The vineyard also owns the restaurant nearby where Olive Garden chefs train.
Great location to travel between the smaller villages of Chianti and in easy reach of Sienna
Some of the waiting staff in the restaurant very pretentious, attitude to guests not great (tall man with glasses), offered different desserts to people and sarcastically answered questions. The gentleman in the morning that covered breakfast was a little cold, but the barman was great, only one i seen smilling. The coffee was terrible, instant coffee when you have a machine to produce propper coffee, my girlfriend is Italian and was appaled, that being said the buffet in the morning had a good selection.
Geounds were very peaceful. Lovely pool area.
Walk to parking lot afetr dark was very dark!
friendliness of hotel staff , location
pool water was not warm enough in spite of hot weather...
